"I was shocked and I was appalled by some of the elements of that [bill]. All this โ€˜wokeโ€™ that they are trying to bring into our system - that every child has the right to try different sexualities. This is ridiculous, this is abhorrent. This is a travesty of what sex education should be to the children..."President Marcos Jr. adds, โ€œYung mga sinama nila na woke na absurdities are abhorrent to me. And I am already guaranteeing, hindi pa napasa ito, pero if this bill is passed in that form, I guarantee all parents, teachers, and children, I will immediately veto it." President BBM now shares the same view of Cagayan de Oro 2nd District Rep. Rufus Rodriguez on said bill. Cong. Rodriguez earlier said that some measures of the bill violate several provisions of the Constitution and the Family Code, including a prohibition against a bill having more than one topic.Cong. Rodriguez highlighted the โ€œdeceptiveโ€ nature of the bill, with its provisions to institutionalize the Comprehensive Adolescent Sexuality Education (CASE), which is a different and separate subject matter from adolescent pregnancy, violative of Article IV, Section 26, Paragraph (1) of the Constitution. Moreover, President Bongbong Marcos emphasized the importance of parentsโ€™ rights to educate their children on sexual education and to give or withhold parental consent to actions of minor children. This is likewise strongly stressed by Cong. Rodriguez who said that the bill violates Section 2(1), Article XV of the Constitution on the right of spouses to found a family in accordance with their religious convictions and the demands of responsible parenthood and Articles 209 and 220 of the Family Code with provisions recognizing the โ€œnatural right and duty of parents over unemancipated children and their duty to care for and rear themโ€ and to โ€œfurnish them good and wholesome educational materials and prevent them from acquiring habits detrimental to their health, studies and moralsโ€.Cong. Rodriguez thanks President BBM for his strong stance against this Bill, committing to veto said bill if Congress passes the measure as is. The Kagay-anon lawmaker emphasizes that he fully supports measures to curb the alarming rate of adolescent pregnancies. Cong. Rodriguez maintains that the State has the duty to protect and uphold the welfare of its children. #MrPerformance#FighterParaSaKagayanon#KatawhanUnaSaTanan | Rufus B. Rodriguez
